The Black Aviation Professionals Network (BAPN)Â is a charitable organization dedicated to empowering underrepresented talent in aviation and aerospace. Our mission is to inspire and support youth in pursuing careers within these industries by providing mentorship, guidance, and access to meaningful opportunities.
We offer a dynamic platform to connect with aviation professionals across Canada and internationally. Through engaging workshops and keynote sessions led by industry leaders, participants gain valuable insights into career development and growth within the field. These workshops also tackle economic and systemic barriers affecting the Black community, fostering a resilient and empowered network of future leaders.

Ways to Get Involved
Planting the seed at an early age is key to implementing change. Black youth will have access to see themselves excel in the industry and be able to learn from current professionals in the industry. Programs are created to allow students to familiarize themselves with the roles and complexities within the Aviation industry. Activities include, mentorship, senior leadership panels, pilot lunch panel, ‘Amazing Race’ in flight service (IFS) activity, in person and virtual tours. Donate to a future Pilot or AME Today! We built packages that any aspiring pilot or AME would dream of having as they begin their careers. The items in the packages are normally not covered by flight schools or post secondary institutions. Receiving these resources would allow the students to focus on their studies. These packages would be awarded to Black Canadian students that have identified they are ready to take the next step in their aviation career and identified the need for support. Our packages include, but not limited to: Inspection mirrors, subscription to Foreflight, noise cancelling gear, safety boots, log books, tool case, flight calculators, and more!
We have programming tailored to pilots, AMEs, dispatchers and more regardless of their progress. Providing access to on-going professional experience means pilots can reduce cycle repetition and AMEs can receive support through to their first job.

Our bi-annual career expo focuses on creating a legacy that will inspire many generations of BIPOC Canadians to join and remain in the aviation community.
